When “dog” is the initial term you articulate in your lifetime, it’s evident that the bond between you and man’s closest companion will be something unique. A young girl named Violet, born into a household of dog enthusiasts, uttered that word for the very first time.
During her infancy, she developed an affection for Bailey, her grandparents’ pet. She was captivated by him, trailed him everywhere, and delighted in playing alongside him, but she also yearned to embrace him tightly.
Regrettably, this is when the early indicators of her ailment emerged, preventing her from getting close to her cherished Bailey or most other dogs. Poor Violet was left with an incessant yearning for the canine affection she couldn’t experience.
Yet, her father, Matt, was determined to help fulfill his daughter’s deepest desire.
Mission (Im)Pawssible
Sadly, Violet faced the fate where her heart was most intertwined with dogs, while her body developed allergies to them. It was a cross she had to bear since infancy.
However, her father, Matt, was resolute in assisting his daughter to discover her true canine companion. He understood that it would not be an easy task, but he also believed that there was, indeed, a remedy for this dilemma.
“Fortunately, certain purebred dogs don’t typically trigger allergies, and she’s perfectly fine around them,” Matt communicated to The Dodo.
Since Matt and his family, including Violet herself, recognized the significance of rescue animals, they opted not to adopt a dog from a breeder, instead choosing the more challenging route.
Matt swiftly took action and began reaching out to all the rescue organizations nationwide. Unfortunately, each time he mentioned that he specifically required a hypoallergenic dog, the answer would be negative.
That was until he reached out to the folks at Cassie’s Place. They couldn’t promise him anything immediately either, but they provided him with hope.
He waited patiently, and two weeks later, their agent, Michelle, delivered the most fantastic news: “I believe I have some wonderful news for you all! I think I’ve located a girl for y’all.”
Matt was so thrilled he couldn’t contain himself and quickly shared the news with Violet and her sister Maisie that a new addition to the family was on the way.
It’s challenging to articulate how ecstatic they were, particularly Violet, who had awaited this moment for so long.
A Dream Realized
Shortly after receiving the joyous news, Matt traveled from their residence in New York City to Texas to adopt their new pet. Upon his arrival, he was greeted by an adorable little Maltese named Chloe.
This petite rescue dog was approximately two to three years old and had been under foster care before they secured her a new permanent family. It was an instant connection when Matt visited; Chloe instantly leaped into his embrace and showered him with affectionate kisses.
As they drove back home, she refused to get off his lap. Their bond developed rapidly, but the best moments were yet to come as Violet and her sister eagerly awaited their happiest occasion.
Upon finally arriving at their home in New York City, it became challenging to determine who was happier – Chloe or Violet and her sister. Nevertheless, after years of anticipation, Violet’s heart was surely the most satisfied due to this extraordinary event.
From that moment on, Violet never allowed Chloe to leave her grasp, no matter what she was engaged in. They awakened and ended their days together.
All the affection she was unable to offer to Bailey and other pups, Violet poured into Chloe. Thus, we can confidently assert that Chloe became the most cherished dog in the world.
