In spite of the cautions and requests from various rescue organizations, a growing number of dogs are abandoned to survive on their own in the streets.
The most heartbreaking aspect is that many of these unfortunate animals were once mistreated or tethered to a fence and left behind without any means to protect themselves from the menacing threats that surround them.
An identical fate occurred to Angel – a mother dog who was left secured to a tree at Iglesia Park in Aliso Viejo, California. This one-and-a-half-year-old mix of Siberian Husky and German Shepherd was unable to save herself, much less assist her seven puppies.
Fortunately, personnel from the rescue organization soon discovered her and promptly initiated efforts to rescue her and her pups.
Rescued Just in Time
After the triumphant rescue at the park in Aliso Viejo, California, the rescuers transported the mother dog and her puppies to the facilities of the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center.
Regrettably, they possessed no specific information regarding how this dog family arrived in that location or how long they had been there.
Although they were discovered safe and well, the City of Mission Viejo, CA – Local Government noted in their Facebook post that no food, water, or shelter was available for them. This indicates they did not remain there for an extended duration and the rescuers arrived in the nick of time.
However, the situation might have been entirely different as numerous threats were lurking nearby. It was the mating season for coyotes, and many of these animals were prowling the city streets at that time. Thankfully, the worst possible outcomes did not materialize.
The center’s staff attempted to locate a microchip on her body, but Angel had none. Fortunately, all evidence suggested she and her puppies were healthy, with no indication of prior mistreatment.
The center staff expressed only commendations for this courageous mother.
“She rolls over in submission when receiving pets and will snuggle into your lap for attention,” Kelly Tokarski, the public information specialist for the City of Mission Viejo, stated according to the Mission Viejo website. “To summarize, Angel is an extraordinary dog. She simply requires a loving home to give her the affection she merits.”
Before Angel and her puppies were prepared for a fresh start, all of them received grooming and vaccinations. Additionally, the wonderful individuals from the Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) furnished them with all necessary medical care.
Compassionate individuals came together to assist this canine family in embarking on a new, joyful chapter.
Fresh Starts
The puppies encountered no obstacles, as they all secured their forever homes rather swiftly. However, despite being a relatively young puppy herself, the mother was not as fortunate and had to wait a bit longer.
Nonetheless, once again, the influence of social media has been showcased, which can sometimes lead to the most uplifting outcomes. This instance was no different.
“Just 24 hours following the broadcast of Angel’s story on KNBC Channel 4 and as it gained traction via the City’s social media, the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center saw a dramatic increase in adoption requests for this lovely Siberian husky-German shepherd mix,” the City of Mission Viejo, CA – Local Government mentioned in their most recent Facebook post.
Ultimately, a charming family from Murrieta, California, had the privilege of bringing Angel into their household. Following the loss of multiple family pets, she arrived as a comfort for their aching hearts.
In conclusion, every member of this canine family reached their joyful conclusions. This narrative reaffirms that just a few benevolent acts from warm-hearted individuals can sometimes significantly alter someone’s fate.
Thanks to this, it turned into a genuine happy ending.
