Locating bits of food and attempting to stay warm as the temperatures drop is a consistent struggle for dogs without homes.
The situation is even more dire for the young puppies who are separated from their nurturing mother and find themselves isolated. They suffer from hunger and withstand the chilly conditions, hoping that humans will offer them a helping hand.
Ace, a small puppy, felt cold and hungry as he sat alone in a store parking lot. The little one deeply missed his mother. Unable to locate her, his heart was filled with despair.
The little fur baby observed the shoppers, gazing at them with his sorrowful, imploring eyes. He wished someone would show him compassion and take him to a safe and warm environment.
A Small Furball Requires Assistance
An experienced dog rescuer, Deanna Tsosie, was left heartbroken after receiving a call from a compassionate local resident of the Navajo reservation.
The caller informed her that a small black fur baby was resting in the parking lot of an Ace Hardware store. He was all by himself.
“He is around 4–5 weeks old. He was apparently abandoned there …,” Tsosie wrote on Instagram.
Concerned about the little pup, Tsosie drove to the hardware store. When she arrived, she spotted a small puppy seeking refuge from the cold next to a parked vehicle.
Tsosie approached the puppy, eager to pet him and say hello.
As soon as the little furball noticed her approaching, he became frightened. He dashed towards the nearest car and concealed himself behind one of its wheels.
Tsosie began speaking softly to the puppy, reassuring him that he was safe. The little guy sensed he could trust his rescuer, and slowly left his hiding spot.
After Tsosie cradled the puppy, later named Ace, in her arms, she searched the surrounding area for his mother or any siblings.
Sadly, Ace’s family was nowhere in sight. The tiny fur baby was left all alone in the parking lot.
As Tsosie held him tightly, Ace looked up at her with his mournful eyes. If the adorable puppy could speak, he would likely have begged his rescuer to take him to a place where he would be cherished.
Determined to assist the puppy in finding a loving home and a family, Tsosie reached out to Az Hidden Jem Rescue in Phoenix, Arizona, and they agreed to take care of Ace.
They instantly fell in love with the little pup upon seeing the video of his rescue.
“He resembled a tiny bear and [was] just bewildered,” The Az Hidden Jem Rescue noted on Instagram.
On the same day, the rescue team picked him up and transported him to the veterinary clinic. The veterinary staff conducted a complete medical examination and determined that Ace was afflicted with mange.
The sweet puppy was given the necessary treatment.
Delightful Life In A Foster Home
The Phoenix-based rescue organization placed the puppy with a wonderful foster family. They welcomed him into their home and provided exceptional care.
The little boy is undergoing treatment for mange, yet he does not allow that to hinder his joy.
Ace has fallen for his new existence. He thrives on the love and affection his foster family showers him with.
He enjoys spending his time playing with his foster siblings – a group of adorable kittens.
Once the gentle fur baby is completely healed, he will begin looking for his forever family. We are confident that Ace will soon capture the hearts of his permanent family, who will love him as he deserves.
