We’ve all witnessed our dogs engage in peculiar behaviors when faced with new experiences or attempting to shirk obligations.

I suppose they simply struggle to navigate unfamiliar situations, leading them to adapt in whatever way they can conceive.

Due to this, their behavior may seem quite uncharacteristic. In this narrative, we will discuss a lady from Los Angeles who observed that her dog began to behave oddly after they welcomed a new canine into their home.

A New Companion

When Elle Nailga began to work longer hours, there was a singular issue she encountered… her dog had to spend increased time alone.

She wished to avoid this for Bella, leading her to devise a clever solution. They acquired a new puppy, a companion for Bella, named Baguette.

Initially, everything went smoothly, and the two enjoyed playing together nearly all the time. However, unbeknownst to Nailga, this soon became a significant issue for Bella.

Since Baguette was an inherently lively dog who thoroughly enjoyed playtime, she was unaware that Bella had a different demeanor.

Now, Bella needed to devise a strategy to cope with her current situation, and it was quite an unusual one.

Nailga observed that her dog had begun to move differently and act peculiarly. She would bump into objects, but at first, it didn’t seem like a major concern.

However, the following day, the situation escalated rapidly. Nailga shared with The Dodo: One morning, I woke Bella and Baguette up to engage in a game of fetch. I tossed the toy, yet Bella didn’t chase after it.

She didn’t even track the toy’s trajectory … I pretended to reach for her eye, and she DIDN’T FLINCH!

A Serious Veterinarian Checkup

She promptly took the dog to the veterinarian in Los Angeles, and preliminary tests indicated that she might have sudden blindness; however, further examinations were necessary.

Subsequently, they consulted an ophthalmologist who conducted additional tests to ensure the findings were precise. Instead, the results were somewhat strange and inconsistent.

To confirm, one final test was administered, and it was established that Bella was indeed not blind, but the reason for her behavior remained uncertain.

The ophthalmologist inquired if the woman had any insight into when this behavior began.

Nailga replied: I mentioned that I added a puppy to our family, and that’s when he speculated it might be Baguette causing this… They concluded that Bella was attempting to evade and disregard Baguette.

Throughout this entire time, she was merely pretending to be blind to avoid engaging with her new sibling, a particularly spirited and lively puppy.

To address this issue, Nailga ensured to create some separation between them, allowing Bella a chance to unwind, and this certainly improved their relationship.

She is taking care to proceed gradually, aiming to prevent any further complications, as all Nailga desires is for her beloved dogs to harmonize.
