Nevertheless, a glimmer of hope emerged from that somber incident; one surviving puppy was swiftly located by compassionate souls who provided her with a new opportunity at life.
Rescuing The Needy Little Girl
Upon discovering the little puppy, subsequently named Cici, by the roadside, the devoted rescuer found her whimpering loudly. In addition to her physical wounds, her anguish stemmed from her broken heart as her entire family perished that day – her mother and siblings crossed the rainbow bridge.
She was the sole survivor, but it was uncertain whether her fate would remain positive. Therefore, one of the rescuers promptly took action and transported Cici to a veterinary clinic.
Upon assessment, the veterinarians confirmed she had a fractured cervical vertebra and a liver shunt. Fortunately, she did not test positive for parvo. The veterinary team dedicated all their efforts to saving this unfortunate little pup, although her future still hung in the balance.
However, after treatment and vital medical interventions, the optimism of the veterinarians grew significantly. Cici’s life was ultimately stabilized, and just a few days later, they permitted her to return home.
The woman who rescued her willingly agreed to take Cici into her care and nurture her for as long as it was needed.
Improving Daily
Cici’s new foster mother took every measure to ensure this puppy genuinely felt welcomed. She set up a cozy, warm bed, blankets, and provided the highest quality, most nutritious dog food available.
Due to her trauma and everything she endured, Cici struggled to eat well on her first day in her new surroundings. Fortunately, that soon changed as her appetite returned robustly, leaving her foster mother unable to keep pace with it.
This woman was extremely delighted as this was the clearest indication that this little girl was progressing. In reality, every single day, Cici showed improvement – her vibrant energy emerged, and the smile on her face became constant.
Only once did this woman genuinely worry when Cici stumbled while walking. However, it was just a singular incident, and it did not reoccur, allowing her to breathe easy.
Following that, her recovery advanced swiftly, and it was merely a question of time until all her injuries completely healed, preparing her for a fresh start.
The Most Joyful Conclusion
After nearly a month of residing in her foster home, Cici regained her full strength. She gained over 4 ounces, a beneficial amount of weight for her. Just a week ago, she weighed 9.1 ounces, and she is now at 13.7 ounces.
Following that, another month went by, and Cici completely recovered. This news was the best possible outcome for her foster mom, but the story didn’t conclude there.
In fact, a wonderful family became enamored with Cici after learning about her journey and almost immediately made the decision to adopt her. It marked the most joyful conclusion after all the suffering this puppy endured.
Her lost family is likely observing her proudly from above the rainbow, and while they may no longer exist in this realm, they will forever reside in her heart, elated to see Cici thriving in her new forever home.
