For canines, being separated from their guardians for days can be a distressing ordeal, especially being forsaken – permanently!
On November 6, 2023, a rescue organization in Indiana shared a plea for information regarding a small dog discovered all by itself at the airport. The dog, aptly named Boeing, was reportedly deserted by its owner.
The compassionate individuals at Speedway Animal Rescue swiftly took action to assist this unfortunate pup, unaware that his story would soon capture attention nationwide.
Boeing’s Unclear Circumstances
The true account behind Boeing’s desertion remains unknown. However, the rescue team speculates that this little dog was left at the Indiana airport due to not having a health certificate, prompting the owner to abandon him.
“The airport is making every effort to look into this situation. They have entrusted Boeing’s care to us, while we are depending on them for the investigation,” the SAR team posted on Facebook.
The rescue promptly issued a request for information on their social platforms, urging the previous owner to come forward.
When found, Boeing was discovered with multiple stitches on his leg. He is estimated to be no more than six months old, and he lacks a microchip that would connect him to his human companions.
In a short span, the rescue’s inbox became inundated with numerous emails from individuals across the nation. Hundreds of people reached out to inquire about this adorable boy.
Many expressed interest in adopting Boeing as well. However, the rescue clarified that the pup must be held for two weeks to allow his original owner time to reach out.
Boeing’s injuries required veterinary attention, and he was subsequently placed in a permanent foster home for ongoing care.
Awaiting A Response
The rescue is still actively seeking more details about Boeing. Although they have yet to locate the original owner, the staff intends to wait the necessary period before relocating the puppy to a new family.
And despite numerous applicants eager to offer this affectionate dog a loving environment, the rescue opted to provide the family who has already adopted from them the priority to adopt first.
“He has a pending adoption with verified adopters. We regret, but we will not deviate from this decision regarding this family,” SAR stated.
Meanwhile, Boeing underwent a remarkable makeover at the groomer’s. This spirited pup appears as if he’s a brand-new dog following his well-deserved grooming session, and he is now fully healed. On November 10, the rescue confirmed that he received an entirely clean bill of health.
He is currently relishing his time in foster care, anticipating the day he can finally move into a forever home that he rightfully deserves. Thanks to his incredibly kind rescuers, we are utterly confident that when the moment arrives – Boeing will find the right path!
