Upon further investigation into her situation, the North Carolina rescuers discovered that Sadie, the pup subsequently renamed Sydney, was indeed a victim of significant maltreatment.
“Sadie urinated in the house and she bit her owner after being physically punished. Following the incident, the owner discarded her in the dumpster,” wrote the rescue in a Facebook update.
The rescue crew quickly transported the frightened pup to their shelter where they began searching for a nurturing home willing to welcome her.

Fortunately, Dochas n Gra Animal Rescue from Chesterfield, South Carolina, responded to their plea and rescued Sydney just in time!
“She was on her final day. She was slated for euthanasia, and she was suffering from an upper respiratory infection,” Victoria McGonigal, the founder of Dochas n Gra Animal Rescue, informed People.

Understanding that the world would be less bright without Sydney, McGonigal was thrilled to offer her a fresh start at life.
After retrieving the puppy, they brought her to a wonderful family eager to shower this delightful dog with the love she so rightfully deserves.
“She adores everyone she encounters, enjoys cuddling and kisses, and responds very well,” noted McGonigal.
Now out of harm’s way, Sydney can finally unwind and move on from her troubled past.
Her humans are doing everything possible to ensure she remains happy and healthy by taking her to regular veterinary check-ups and spending quality moments together.
