Upon receiving news about a lovable Pit Bull that had been left behind at a shipping yard, a Los Angeles-based non-profit animal rescue organization known as Hope for Paws opted to investigate.
Upon their arrival at the site, they discovered that the workers at the shipping yard were caring for the pup, providing him daily meals, thereby establishing a very special connection.
As a result, the rescuers, Alex Babcock and Katie McKittrick, managed to slip a leash around the pup’s neck with ease.
New Beginnings
The team promptly checked if the pup had a microchip. Since no chip was detected, they transported him directly to their Los Angeles shelter.
Upon arrival, the pup, who was given the name Mack, underwent a comprehensive health evaluation along with a much-needed bath.
The results indicated that the pup had an enlarged prostate, a common issue among male pups that haven’t been neutered and lived in poor hygiene conditions.
Fortunately, the dedicated rescue group managed to rehabilitate this remarkable boy swiftly through neutering, vaccinations and providing him a nurturing foster environment, where he recuperated into a joyful pup!
Now, all that remains is to find Mack a cozy forever home that will enable him to move on from his troubled past and concentrate on the beautiful and happy moments that life has prepared for him.
Best of luck, Mack!
Disproving the Misconception
Regrettably, numerous myths exist that lead individuals to believe that Pit Bulls are an inherently aggressive breed.
According to a research conducted by Lisa Gunter, when a pup is classified as a Pit Bull, their likelihood of adoption sharply decreases.
However, contrary to common perception, Pit Bulls are not aggressive at all. In reality, aggression is not even a trait specific to the breed; instead, it is influenced by various factors in a dog’s upbringing, including mistreatment, insufficient socialization, or even inadequate breeding.
Thus, if you encounter a Pit Bull exhibiting aggression, there likely exists a valid explanation for such behavior.
A Pit Bull is actually a incredibly loyal and loving dog, brimming with affection and joy. Nothing pleases them more than bringing happiness to their human companions.
Therefore, claiming and believing that they are an aggressive breed is merely an unjust and unfounded stereotype that must be challenged without delay!
