We all recognize that dogs are among the most devoted creatures, yet their unwavering loyalty never fails to impress us.
If you happen to stroll by Chloe Bonnell’s residence in Tallahassee, Florida, you’ll catch a glimpse of the cutest face gazing at you from the window where he spends his days patiently anticipating his mother’s return.
This is her cherished dog, Atlas, whose gentle disposition and loyalty have captured the affections of numerous individuals, including their UPS delivery driver!
Atlas Is A Remarkably Good Boy
Chloe welcomed Atlas into her home in March 2020, following the abandonment of a litter of puppies in Tallahassee. At that moment, she was uncertain if she was prepared for a new puppy, but the instant she laid eyes on tiny Atlas, she was convinced.
“He came straight to me and wouldn’t let me be. I feel like God urged me to adopt that pup because he knew what was on the horizon. He’s my little saving grace and has been by my side throughout this entire pandemic and online teaching,” Chloe shared with The Dodo.
She is now extremely grateful to have had this little companion with her during the pandemic and the unusual period of being away from her students.
Atlas has profoundly aided her in managing her anxiety, and he truly is a significant blessing to her family.
A year later, when she resumed her duties at the school, she felt anxious about Atlas since he was a pandemic puppy, accustomed to having her around constantly.
Furthermore, Atlas possesses a high level of energy and adores playing and running about. He would eagerly run all day if given the chance.
However, much to Chloe’s astonishment, her worries about separation anxiety turned out to be unfounded as Atlas quickly developed a new favorite pastime.
As the wonderful dog he is, he would simply sit in his preferred spot by the front window for hours, waiting patiently for his mom to return home.
“He genuinely loves simply sitting in that sunshine and observing the world around him,” Chloe remarked.
It became his new favorite pastime and he was entirely satisfied with himself.
Soon, neighbors passing by the residence began to notice his affectionate eyes watching them from inside…
The Sweetest Compliment
One day, after an especially tough day at work, Chloe returned home to the most delightful surprise.
She posted on Facebook, “I just got back from my job and the UPS driver was on my street. He said, “excuse me ma’am, may I speak with you for a moment?” I set my things down and walked out to him, bracing myself for some unexpected bad news.”
Feeling drained from work, she assumed the UPS driver had bad news for her; however, that was not the case.
What he shared next truly melted her heart.
He stated, “that is the most faithful dog I have ever encountered. Does he just sit there all day looking out the window while you are away? Every time I drive by, he’s right there. Even when I come to drop off a package, he doesn’t bark at me. Most dogs do. I knock, and he merely gazes at me. I suppose he’s just waiting for you to get home, so he’s not distressed by me. Regardless, I enjoy driving by because I always see him sitting in the window.”
Chloe was deeply touched by these entirely unforeseen remarks. After such a challenging day, that was the most perfect thing she could have wished for.
She was extremely pleased that her adorable boy had managed to brighten someone’s daily life with his cherished presence, just as he does for her.
Chloe also mentioned that when she arrives home, Atlas always gets to run freely, play, and enjoy all the fun, but that night, she made sure to shower him with extra affection.
