A building site is certainly not an appropriate place for a dog. It’s perpetually so hectic and hazardous that anyone unprepared might end up injured.
Nonetheless, incidents occur, and it remains unclear how this particular one transpired.
How did he get stuck there, caught in such a predicament?
How could they have overlooked him earlier?
Had he been there for too long?
How on Earth did that dog become ensnared in a construction site, right between two rocks?
There was no opportunity to ponder the situation.
That unfortunate pup needed to be saved, immediately!
A Rocky Beginning To A New Existence
It was the unusual cries that led them to him. The whimpering, the sobbing, the distress in that tiny voice…
A construction worker at a site in Valley Center, San Diego, heard those sounds and hurried to find out what was happening.
Indeed, it was a puppy, trapped shockingly between two boulders on the site.
He realized there was nothing he could do without endanger the pup unintentionally. Thus, San Diego County Animal Services and firefighters were summoned for assistance.
But, what method should be used to retrieve that ensnared puppy? What strategy should they pursue?
The rescuers attempted to lift him with a rope, but it quickly became a disastrous choice, yielding no success.
Then, an idea surfaced involving soapy water intended to act as a lubricant.
And, it proved effective!
After an exhausting hour of working to extricate the pup, he was finally liberated.
“He was affectionate and exhausted,” one of the rescuers remarked. “The officer allowed him to ride in the cab of the truck, and he cuddled next to the officer’s lap during the trip to the shelter.”
What a rocky beginning to a new existence!
Upon arrival at the San Diego County Animal Services shelter, located in Carlsbad, the rescued pup received a new name: Snack!
He was so sweet you could almost eat him up!
Snack turned out to be a robust boy. This joyful pup quickly found his forever family, as soon as the vet granted a clean bill of health.
That construction worker could have easily walked away and disregarded the sounds of distress. It wasn’t his responsibility to save pups trapped between rocks. However, it was his obligation as a human being to pause and assist.
He may not have known how to rescue that pooch, but he was aware of whom to call for help.
If you ever find yourself in a similar predicament, do not turn your back. Do not overlook an animal in distress. It may be just a small creature, but you’re potentially saving their entire life, along with the world of someone else one day.
