Yogi faced a similar fate. Born with a unique genetic disorder that resulted in numerous complications, his life transformed when he was embraced by an incredible owner.
Yogi’s Caregiver
Prior to adopting Yogi, her family experienced an enormous tragedy. Her daughter succumbed to a heart ailment. In an effort to heal, she brought home a dog named Teddy.
Teddy uplifted their moods and assisted them in navigating the challenging period of their lives. However, he occasionally felt lonely, prompting the family to adopt another dog, which led them to Yogi.
Yogi’s journey has not been easy. He has a rare condition known as ‘Somatic mutation’ that results in peculiar changes in a dog.
To begin with, his tail exhibits an unusual color pattern. The condition affects his brain and contributes to certain neurological issues. He possesses a weaker side, causing his face to tilt to the left.
He suffers from mild seizures and heart murmurs. To help people better grasp his situation, Molly Alive Volker, Yogi’s mom, likened it to down syndrome in dogs.
There are similarities in certain aspects, and this serves as the most straightforward way to clarify the dog’s condition to others.
This essentially indicates that Molly is uncertain about Yogi’s lifespan. It could range from months to years. Regardless, she is determined to provide him with the best life she can offer.
While it is painful to contemplate, Yogi is relishing his life to the maximum. He enjoys playing and going for walks. The neighbors adore him and often reward him with treats.

Honestly, I would have never considered that comparison, but I believe I’m starting to see it just a bit.
