“He was … crusty from head to toe. He had dermatological and eye infections and desperately required medicated baths, eye drops, and ointments for treatment,” noted the 15/10 Foundation on Facebook.
Although he was in discomfort, the puppy became animated, and his tail began to wag the instant he spotted them approaching.
The rescuers gently patted his head, and the dog, later named Gordough, instantly sensed that they were the saviors he had been waiting for. His eyes filled with warmth and thankfulness as he observed them unfastening his leash from the bench.
An Abundance Of Love And Care
The rescuers promptly transported him to the shelter.
The puppy immediately captured the hearts of the shelter staff upon their introduction.
“Gordough is a large fellow, weighing 115 pounds but possesses a sweet and gentle temperament,” the Austin Humane Society shared on Instagram.
His caregivers provided him with a bath. Gordough exhibited remarkable patience while they applied various ointments to his skin.
They showered him with affection and gave him countless cuddles. The gentle giant profoundly valued the kindness of his adoptive friends. Witnessing their smiling faces instilled a sense of safety in him.
Gordough’s expression began to radiate joy.
Gordough was thrilled to enjoy some much-needed relaxation.
“Gordough resembles one of those reclining happy Buddha statues [come] to life. The zen master serves as an inspiration to couch potatoes everywhere,” the Austin-based non-profit organization conveyed to the 15/10 Foundation, subsequently shared on Facebook.
