Dogs are creatures that can bring us immense happiness in our lives that is incomparable to anything else. Yet, even though they remain faithful till the very end, that doesn’t imply they are exempt from a bit of mischief that may spoil the owner’s day while eliciting laughter from others.
Such was the case with one cheeky Shih Tzu who took advantage of a rare chance to satisfy her craving for sweets. While the cereals she devoured were undoubtedly the sweetest delights she had ever tasted, she had to face the repercussions once her owner discovered the chaos she had created.
Enveloped in the remnants of the cereal box she explored, this pup remained unrecognizable until the conclusion of one of the most extended grooming sessions ever.
A Chaotic Situation
A woman named Heather Hunt was already aware that she could anticipate anything from her three playful dogs. Nevertheless, she could not have anticipated the surprises that awaited her one day upon her return home.
As she stepped inside, she was met with a scene in the hallway that she hadn’t witnessed in quite some time – cereal was scattered all over the floor, alongside ripped-open Sugar Puffs boxes.
“I returned from shopping, and it was everywhere on the floor. I was furious.” Hunt shared, according to SWNS.
She quickly spotted her two dogs, George and Mildred, who appeared spotless. However, she initially couldn’t find her third pet, a 2-year-old Shih Tzu named Crumpet. However, upon looking into her crate, everything changed.
Hunt was unsure whether to laugh or weep upon seeing her. Crumpet was drenched in sticky cereal from head to toe. Despite her anxiety, Hunt attempted to remove the mess from her fur, but her efforts were futile.
“She also got into two other cereal boxes, but the sugar puff cereal is coated in honey, so it stuck to her fur like glue,” Hunt explained. “I couldn’t get it out. Wetting it only turned it into something resembling wallpaper paste.”
Left with no other options, the distressed dog owner had to seek help from a professional.
An Extended Clean-Up Session
Once Hunt reached out to the grooming salon, she requested an urgent appointment. Luckily, they replied positively, so she and Crumpet made their way there right away.
Upon their arrival, the salon staff were astonished at the chaos they were confronting. They recognized the challenge ahead but resolved to restore Crumpet’s appearance.
“When I ultimately chose to take her to the groomers, they spent nearly three hours cleaning her, removing all the cereal from her fur, and restoring her to a dog again,” Hunt stated.
In the end, it was all worthwhile, and the best evidence of this was the image of Crumpet following her extensive cleaning session. With her newly shorter, cereal-free cut, she looked like an entirely new dog.
While one might question Hunt’s sentiment towards her dogs, especially Crumpet, in light of the mess, her response may come as a surprise – she loved them even more.
And, how could she feel otherwise when these are the cherished moments that only our little furry companions can create. Such occasions transform into the sweetest memories as time passes, and that is the most significant aspect in the end.
