One disturbing aspect regarding neglected animals is that numerous of them are abandoned in areas where their chances of survival are minimal.
This was no exception for this adorable canine. No one truly understands how she found herself in a vast field isolated from everything, but she urgently required assistance.
Fortunately for her, a compassionate rescuer named Kelly spotted her and resolved to do everything possible to provide her with another opportunity.
She Was Extremely Afraid
Upon discovering the pup in a field in Texas, Kelly promptly halted her vehicle and attempted to approach her. Almost instantly, she realized how frightened the pup truly was.
Thus, she kept her distance to avoid alarming the canine even more. Kelly attempted to offer her some food, but her attempts were unsuccessful.
The dog simply refused to take the food. She appeared so dejected and terrified that Kelly couldn’t just walk away and ignore her.
At that moment, she understood that they would need to capture the dog somehow since there was no way she would voluntarily accept their aid. Kelly informed The Dodo: “I believe we’re going to have to trap her. We left and returned later.”
They departed and returned shortly thereafter. In the field, they set up a humane trap and patiently waited. The famished pup entered, and their plan succeeded.
Overjoyed, Kelly hurried to the trap and attempted to soothe the frightened pup.
In the next moment, she realized just how terrified the dog was. When Kelly placed a leash on her, the pup became completely still.
This left her rescuer in astonishment. The poor dog was so uncertain of how to act that she just remained frozen in place. Kelly then scooped her up and transported her to the vehicle.
Sissy Aided Her New Companion
Afterward, they returned to their residence in Texas. Since Kelly and her partner operate an animal sanctuary, they believed that being around other dogs would aid her in overcoming her fears.
However, there was a single issue. She had to find a new home for her since there simply wasn’t enough space for another dog.
Yet, when she felt the pup’s embrace and warmth, it was as if she was pleading with Kelly to remain a part of her family.
Consequently, the compassionate rescuers chose to keep her. Under their care, she completely transformed. The dog, now named Sissy, is relishing her existence with her new guardians.
He suffered from a severe case of PTSD. Doug would never exit his room, significantly influencing his quality of life. This continued until he encountered Sissy.
Being such a gentle dog, she assisted Doug in addressing his issues, allowing him to venture outside for the first time in ages because of her.
Kelly takes immense pride in both of them for making remarkable strides and for supporting each other during their moments of need. She feels fortunate that they have become such close companions.
Ultimately, she remarked: “I firmly believe that there’s no coincidence in this. She’s offered us so much more than we could ever give her.”
