When rescuing stray puppies, certain salvagers may become puzzled and not realize that what they rescued was actually not a canine.

They save a ‘puppy’ only to later find out it was a coyote. This can happen to virtually anyone because it can be challenging to distinguish them when they are quite small.

On occasion, it’s also difficult to differentiate some larger dogs from a coyote if you are not particularly knowledgeable about dogs.

Nevertheless, what transpired with this foster family was entirely different. They opted to foster a canine, but upon his arrival, they were taken aback by his peculiar look.

When this family initially chose to foster a dog, they didn’t precisely know how he appeared. He was delivered by rescuers, leaving the family in astonishment.

They first assumed he bore a striking resemblance to a coyote due to his extremely undernourished condition. Because of his appearance, they named him Yodi.

Initially, Yodi was somewhat apprehensive to be in a yard with complete strangers. He didn’t fully trust these individuals, although they only wanted to assist him.

Yodi’s foster parent, Riley, inquired about his history and was stunned to discover that the rescuers found him on a remote road.

Due to the condition he was discovered in, he suffered from tracheal issues and could scarcely consume any food. This also led to various skin ailments for Yodi.

Fortunately, he now has an incredible new foster family who will strive to ensure he recovers and regains his weight.

When the online community first witnessed Riley’s reaction to this adorable dog, they were shocked at his undernourished state. He appeared to have been starving for several months.

Some individuals didn’t entirely grasp her sarcasm when she referred to him as a “coyote”, yet most responses were overwhelmingly positive.

One person remarked: “I didn’t read the caption but I didn’t doubt you because I’m not too knowledgeable about coyotes myself.

I’m not precisely an authority either, but it’s essential to mention that she didn’t genuinely think that. She was merely jesting.

Another user mentioned: “I was so worried as to why you weren’t troubled but then I read the caption.

To be truthful, I believe I often overlook captions for clarification, but in this instance, I’m pleased that I did.

In conclusion, someone commented: “We had an undernourished shepherd come to our shelter, and her fosters also referred to her as a coyote. She’s flourishing now.

Even though there were a few misunderstandings in the comments, numerous commenters were pleased to see that Yodi is now on a journey towards complete recovery with his rescuers.

@rileynm10 joking he was merely an extremely underfed foster we had, but we named him Yodi because he appeared so coyote-like #foster #dog #coyote ♬ original sound – Maggie Winters
