Pet sitting is definitely not an ordinary everyday job, but it also isn’t something spectacular, so to speak. Laura Blount was of the same opinion when a woman asked her to look after her dog while she was away. Simply put, she thought nothing could surprise her.
Yet, even before she started pet-sitting this dog, she was surprised, almost shocked. Namely, the dog came in the package with a bag full of labeled, pre-wrapped gifts.
At first, nothing was clear to Laura but that was until she saw the different dates on each gift. Then she finally understood what was it all about.
One Gift Each Day
Laura was shocked, but also delighted at the same time, when she realized that these gifts were meant for a dog to open every day.
Each gift was labeled with the exact date on which he must unwrap it. Of course, it was the ten dates that represented the ten days of his mom’s absence. Laura was not allowed to open any presents, the dog had to do it.
“I think he is very much used to receiving presents each day,” Laura told The Dodo. “The owner said it is his favorite thing to do.”
When she finally gave him his first gift, the dog enthusiastically grabbed it and started unwrapping it with his teeth until he opened it. Laura was over the moon and couldn’t stop laughing at a scene she had never witnessed before.
Every next day, Laura gave him a gift, and it was clear that the dog was looking forward to that part of the day the most.
“He was always excited and knew I was about to be giving him another present with the hidden toy inside,” Laura stated.
This even helped him in a way to make the days pass faster until his mom came back.
People Couldn’t Get Enough Of It
As you can already see, Laura posted this video on TikTok via her account @laurablount_. She knew it would attract a lot of attention, but even she could not have guessed that it would be to this extent.

The owner surely is brilliant because she not only made her dog happy while she was gone but also the babysitter and many other people who witnessed this cute scene.
